Phoebe Bridgers is the proud parent of a new vegan taco: The Maxine, named for Bridgers’ very small and famous dog, wraps black beans, shiitake mushrooms, avocado, caramelized onions, and crispy corn strips in a Kernel of Truth corn tortilla. It is on sale until November 22, at all five locations of the Los Angeles restaurant HomeState. With each order, $1.25 goes to the Los Angeles wing of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), a community organization advocating for children and families in child welfare and juvenile justice systems.
“HomeState is one of my favorite local restaurants,” Bridgers said in a press release. “Maxine and I should probably be cut off from their breakfast tacos by now.” Take a look at one Maxine posing with another below. The taco launch was made in conjunction with This Ain’t No Picnic festival, where Bridgers performs this weekend.
