Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 Live Updates: TMC national general secretary and MP from Diamond Harbour, Abhishek Banerjee, met former Maharashtra CM and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray at Matoshree in Mumbai on Thursday.

Speaking about the meeting, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had sent her delegation to Mumbai today.

Raut stated, “Today, TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee and party leader Derek O’Brien met with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. They had an extensive discussion. Several leaders spoke to Uddhav Thackeray over the phone today. Narendra Modi and the BJP do not have a majority. They are still attempting to form the government. We believe it will not be a stable government.”

The Trinamool Congress has secured 29 out of 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal, while Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) has won 9 seats in Maharashtra.

In Maharashtra, the election saw a tight contest in many constituencies, with the BJP facing unexpected losses, winning only 17 seats despite expecting over 45. The Congress had a remarkable resurgence, emerging as the single-largest party in the state by leading in 13 constituencies.

Both Shiv Sena (UBT) and TMC are part of the INDIA bloc.

According to the Election Commission of India, the BJP won 240 seats, significantly lower than its 2019 tally of 303. The Congress, on the other hand, saw a strong improvement, winning 99 seats. While the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance secured 292 seats, the INDIA bloc crossed the 230 mark, posing stiff competition and defying all predictions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has secured a third term, but the BJP required the support of other parties in its coalition, primarily JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu.

Additionally, NDA leaders unanimously passed a resolution in their meeting, electing Narendra Modi as their leader.
