Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu has received an invitation to join the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his third successive term, according to media reports.
Set for the upcoming weekend, the ceremony is anticipated to host leaders from neighboring nations. President Muizzu, who assumed office just last year, extended his congratulations to Modi and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for their triumph in the 2024 Indian General Election.
Earlier in a social media message, Muizzu stated, “I look forward to working together to advance our shared interests in pursuit of shared prosperity and stability for our two countries.”
Though there hasn’t been any official confirmation from Muizzu’s office yet, his potential trip to Delhi would mark his maiden visit to India since taking office.
